About this tool
Fix scanned pages that came out sideways. Rotate the whole document, only odd or even pages, or a list of pages.
Fixing sideways and upside-down pages
Scanners and phone scanning apps often save pages in the wrong orientation, especially when a document mixes portrait and landscape pages. A sideways page is irritating to read on screen and may be rejected by an online portal or reviewer. Rotating fixes the problem permanently, so the document opens the right way up on every device without anyone needing to turn their screen.
You can rotate all pages at once, only odd or even pages, or specific pages you list. The odd and even options are useful for double-sided scans where every second page came out upside down. For mixed documents, list just the pages that need turning, such as 3, 7-8, and leave the rest alone. Choose 90 degrees clockwise, 90 degrees anticlockwise or 180 degrees depending on how the page is currently facing.
The rotation is saved into the file itself, not just into your viewer's display settings, so anyone who opens the new PDF will see the pages correctly. Rotating does not change the content or reduce quality; it only changes how each page is oriented. After rotating, scroll through the whole document once to confirm every page faces the right way, since it is easy to miss one page in a long scan. If you need to remove blank pages or reorder sections as well, use the split and merge tools after rotating. The file is processed entirely on your device and never uploaded, which keeps contracts, forms and personal records private. Saving the corrected file with a clear new name also avoids mixing it up with the original.
