About this tool

Social apps build link previews from Open Graph (og:) and Twitter card tags in your page's head. Paste the HTML (or just the head section) and see each preview plus the tags that are missing or too long.

How to use it

  1. Open your page, right-click and choose View page source, then copy everything.
  2. Paste it into the box.
  3. Check the previews for each app and add any tags listed under 'Tags to add'.

Questions

What size should an Open Graph image be?

1200 × 630 pixels (1.91:1) works on every major platform. Keep important text away from the edges because some apps crop to a square.

Why does WhatsApp show an old preview?

Apps cache previews. Change the page URL slightly (for example add ?v=2) to force a fresh preview, or use Facebook's Sharing Debugger to refresh its cache.

Do I need twitter: tags if I have og: tags?

X falls back to og:title, og:description and og:image, but you need twitter:card set to summary_large_image to get the large image layout.
