About this tool

RPM is what you earn per 1,000 views after YouTube's share. It varies widely by niche and audience country; your exact RPM is in YouTube Studio under Analytics, Revenue.

Estimating YouTube income realistically

Creators often see dramatic earnings claims online, and this calculator offers a more grounded way to estimate. It multiplies your daily views by RPM, which is revenue per thousand views after YouTube's share, to estimate daily, monthly and yearly income. RPM is the figure that matters to creators, because it reflects what actually reaches your account, unlike CPM, which is what advertisers pay before the platform's cut.

RPM varies a lot. Channels about personal finance, technology and business usually earn far more per view than entertainment, comedy or music channels, because advertisers pay more to reach those audiences. Viewer location also matters: views from countries with higher ad spending are worth more than views from regions where ad rates are lower. Shorts typically earn much less per view than long videos. That is why the calculator shows a range at half and double your chosen RPM.

To estimate accurately, use your own RPM from YouTube Studio once you are in the Partner Programme, and base views on a typical month rather than a single viral video. Ad income is also seasonal, often rising towards the end of the year when advertisers spend more and dipping in the first months of the new year. Many creators earn more from sponsorships, affiliate links, memberships and their own products than from ads, so treat this figure as one part of the picture. Remember that earnings are taxable income in India, and keeping records of your expenses for equipment, software and editing helps when you file your return.
