Use placeholder text with care. It is easy to forget a section, and lorem ipsum on a live website looks unprofessional and can confuse visitors and search engines. Make a habit of searching your project for 'lorem' before launch. Where possible, switch to realistic draft copy early, because real headlines are often longer or shorter than the placeholder, and that can change the design. For apps and forms, use realistic sample names, prices and dates rather than Latin, so you can spot layout problems with long names or large numbers. Lorem ipsum is best for early layout work, while realistic copy is better for final testing and user reviews.
